50,000 subscribers… WHAT?!

That number is honestly hard for me to wrap my head around.

Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just recently found my channel, THANK YOU.

Every view, comment, like, and message has meant more than you probably realize. This community has opened so many doors for me, introduced me to incredible people, and allowed me to do what I genuinely love.

I know I’ve taken a bit of a break from posting consistently, but sometimes life has a way of pulling you in different directions. During that time, I’ve been working behind the scenes on some really exciting projects, continuing to grow my game, and thinking a lot about the kind of content I want to create for all of you.

The good news? I’m back. Still slowly getting my feet wet again. But, I’m back to try my best :)

I’ve got a lot planned, and you’ll be seeing videos much more regularly again very soon. More poker, more strategy, more vlogs, more behind-the-scenes moments, and plenty of fun along the way.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sticking with me, believing in me, and being part of this journey. Reaching 50,000 subscribers is something I’ll never take for granted, and I truly can’t wait to see where we go from here.

I’ve seen a lot of opinions on when you should register for a tournament, but I don’t think there’s a universal answer. It depends on the field, the structure, and the most important part IMO: YOU.

Registering on time gives you access to the softest part of the field. Recreational players are making the biggest mistakes, stacks are deep, implied odds are at their highest, and you have time to observe your table and build reads. If you’re not there collecting those chips, someone else is.

Late registering has its own advantages. Long tournaments are mentally exhausting, and every hour at the table costs energy. Showing up a few levels in can help you stay fresh, avoid some early variance, and preserve your focus for the stages where the biggest decisions are made. If you’re playing a full series, managing your energy becomes even more important.

The part that doesn’t get talked about enough is checking in with yourself. It’s SO important. Especially for me, with sleep issues and neck injury… I have to check in with my mind and body often.

Some days you wake up feeling locked in. Your mind is clear, your patience is there, and you’re ready to battle. Those are the days to register on time and maximize every opportunity.

Other days you’re distracted, tired, or carrying something from outside of poker. Forcing yourself into a seat just because “that’s what you’re supposed to do” isn’t always the highest EV decision. Sometimes taking a little more time to reset before you play is the better choice.

For me, the biggest leak isn’t always registering early or registering late. It’s autopiloting the decision instead of thinking about what’s best for that specific tournament and that specific day.

The best players don’t just study ranges. They know themselves.

Uncomfortable truths no one tells you about playing poker for a living.

There’s no set paycheck. One month you’re up $8k, the next you’re down $3k. Try explaining that to a mortgage lender or even yourself when rent is due. You can’t autopilot your finances the way someone with a salary can. Every month is a math problem.

Nobody understands what you do. Your family thinks you gamble. Your friends think it’s a hobby. You spend more time defending your career choice than actually talking about it. And I’ve found people don’t respect your schedule because you don’t have typical 9-5 hours.

There are no sick days. You don’t play, you don’t make money. No PTO, no benefits, no employer covering your health insurance. When you’re burned out and need a week off, that’s not rest. That’s zero income.

Your social life revolves around everyone else’s schedule. You play nights, weekends, holidays. The times normal people are off are your peak earning hours. You miss birthdays, dinners, events. And when you have a random Tuesday free, nobody else does.

Downswings hit different when it’s your livelihood. A recreational player loses a buy-in and moves on. When you’re running bad for three weeks and poker is your income, it’s not just frustrating. It’s existential. The mental weight of variance when it’s attached to your bills is something no one prepares you for.

It’s still the best job I’ve ever had. But nobody should walk into it thinking it’s easy.

“I raised to see where I’m at.”

Let’s retire this one for good.

Every bet you make should accomplish one of two things: get worse hands to call, or get better hands to fold.

That’s it.

“Seeing where I’m at” does neither.

It’s a justification we use when we don’t actually know why we’re putting chips in.

Here’s the real problem. When you raise for “information,” you fold out everything you were beating and only get action from hands that have you crushed. The “information” you bought is that the hands you wanted to know about are gone, and the ones still in the pot are exactly the ones you didn’t want to see.

And even that information isn’t reliable. A call can be a trap. A fold can be a disciplined laydown.

Worst of all, raising for information bloats the pot. So when the answer comes back “you’re behind,” the pot is now big enough that most players ignore it and stack off anyway. You paid to find out, then refused to listen.

The fix is simple. Stop asking “what will their response tell me about my hand?” Start asking “what does this bet accomplish against their range?” If you can’t answer that, don’t raise.

The turn is the most abandoned street in poker. Population data shows the pool over-folds turns by 16% compared to GTO.

That’s a massive leak you can exploit every single session.

Most players fire a flop c-bet, get called, and freeze. They check the turn and hope for showdown. When you’re the one who keeps firing — especially on wet boards where scare cards keep coming — you’re printing money in spots your opponents just give up on.

The second barrel isn’t reckless. It’s the most underused weapon at low and mid stakes.

One of the biggest things I’ve worked on over the last few years is untangling all the places where I’ve carried negative beliefs about myself, whether it was my looks, my personality, my career, or my worth.

For a long time, my mind was crowded with self limiting beliefs, some rooted in guilt, some in shame, some in feeling unworthy, and some simply in a lack of self love.

Changing my mindset is something I have not even close to mastered yet, but it is something I’m deeply aware of and actively working on every day. There is something so powerful about taking what once felt negative and transforming it into something meaningful and positive. That kind of shift feels like alchemy to me, and I really believe it is at the core of not only building a happier life, but creating the kind of success that grows from within.

For a long time, I lived a life that made sense to everyone but me.

I followed what I was taught. Tried to fit into a future I was supposed to want. And always felt like the odd one out. I always felt like I was on the outside looking in and wished I wasn’t so different.

Inside I was anxious and struggling to find my way.

If you would’ve told me 10 years ago that I’d be here… living this life, doing what I do now… I would’ve laughed. There’s no way I would’ve believed you.

Walking away from that old life was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done. Letting go of what was familiar, what felt safe, what I had built my identity around.

Something had to give.

So I started pulling on threads. Questioning things I was never supposed to question. Letting go of beliefs and expectations that weren’t actually mine.

It wasn’t easy. But it was honest. It was MY journey.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, I found myself. Not the version I was taught to be… the REAL me.

Now my life looks completely different than anything I thought it would be. And somehow… it’s better than I ever could’ve imagined.

For the first time, I feel at home with myself. Grounded. Honest. Free.

And I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

Normalizing rest is important. Taking a step back does not mean you are falling behind, losing momentum, or giving up on yourself. Sometimes the healthiest, smartest thing you can do is pause, breathe, reset, and come back with a clearer mind and a fuller cup. We are not meant to be in constant motion all the time. Breaks are not weakness. They are part of how we protect our peace, our energy, and our ability to keep showing up as our best selves.
